Welcome to the Arne Nixon Center for the Study of Children's Literature, one of North America's leading resources for the study of children's and young adult literature. The growing collection of 45,000 books, periodicals, manuscripts, original art, and the manuscripts and papers of authors and illustrators, has an international and multicultural emphasis. It dates from 1865 to the present.

The Arne Nixon Center is a department of the Henry Madden Library at California State University, Fresno. In 1995 Professor Arne Nixon donated 22,000 books to the Library and when he died, in 1997, he left the Library a generous bequest to establish the Arne Nixon Center. The Center opened in 2001. Its materials are available to anyone for use in the Center's reading area.
